Bernstein's older brother Gary Bernstein confirmed the tragic news.

Through his career, Reckful was outspoken on his battle with depression and the resounding effect the suicide of his brother, Guy, had on him. I've no siblings left. "If you have stories and pictures of him, share them".

In accordance with Blue Madrigal, his ex-girlfriend and one of many individuals who initially confirmed his loss of life on social media, Berstein died by suicide.

In a devastating aftermath to his death, Bernstein's former girlfriend replied to his tweets - paying a heartfelt tribute to the 31-year-old.

"I hope you are in a better place now. If you're struggling or know someone who is, there are many organizations and people who want to help".

Some servers had uniformed lines, others had a few rows of people, and some even had Horde peacefully gathered among the Alliance within the Cathedral's walls.

It was reported that Bernstein had died by suicide earlier this week, leading to commiserations from Twitch and Blizzard among many involved and associated with the world of streaming, and the wider Warcraft fanbase.

Bernstein's final tweets on Thursday morning caused fans to respond with concern. In an interview, Bernstein said that he never felt this way in life but he was also not sure if his happy life is forever. "I don't know what to do". - Before news of his passing, Byron shared a collection of photos to Twitter and asked his ex Becca to marry him.

"Do not do she feels pressured to say yes, I am completely insane here, "he continued". I have not seen her for 6 months. However, no one actually knows the reason why they broke up.

"I didn't see the proposal until it was too late but that doesn't change the fact that I wasn't in a position to be there for him".

Becca paid tribute to Bernstein, writing: "It was wonderful".

"He was awesome. He taught me how to have fun, to experience more, and challenged me to try to be more than what I was", she wrote of the Texas-based gamer.

"He brought me to realize that I knew NOTHING about depression, NOTHING about mental health issues. I had this vague idea of what it was and embarrassingly thought that I could help with trivial bullsh*t", she continued.

Mr Bernstein had built his following in part by playing World Of Warcraft.

Bernstein's many achievements included ranking number one among World of Warcraft players for six consecutive years and has also won several gaming tournaments, including Major League Gaming's World of Warcraft tournament in 2010. Rest in peace, Reckful. "We extend our sincerest condolences to Byron's family, friends, and his many fans around the world".

Not all had followed his journey from top-ranked player to game developer, but they came in any case - such was his impact on World of Warcraft and its community.

While Twitch tweeted: "We're devastated to hear of Byron's passing. He was a streaming pioneer and helped propel the whole industry forward", Twitch said in a statement, via Twitter on July 2.
