"Ego Death" features Kanye West, FKA twigs, Skrillex and serpentwithfeet, with Ty and Skrillex producing the beat alongside BoogaDaBeast for BoardMemberz.

The idea for "Ego Death" came after Ty overheard a group of girls at a party say, "That's the death of his ego", whilst discussing something a guy had done.

Ty has collaborated with numerous artists featured on "Ego Death" in the past, having featured on Yeezy's 2018 ye cut "All Mine" and on serpentwithfeet's "Receipts" a year ago.

Ty Dolla $ign is one of the most prolific artists working today, but although he made a pile of guest appearances in 2019, he has not released much under his own name since 2018's "MihTy" tag-team with Jeremih.

There's a lot packed into the four minute of "Ego Death", including a Queen Latifah sample, a breezy interlude anchored by the lilting vocals of Serpentwithfeet, and a gorgeously spacey outro built around FKA Twigs. "I can't wait for y'all to hear it!" Then I was watching Instagram, and there was some video of Ye walking through Chicago. Then he was like, "Hold up. There's a train going by.' I thought that was so hard, just seeing him just walking through Chicago by himself", he said. Every time me and Ye get together, I feel like we just make something great.

"That conversation definitely inspired me and made me go back and go insane with the live instruments", he added.

He continues: "I just had to find the right time to put it out, so I'm excited that it's finally THAT TIME!"
