A Fallout TV series is now in development from Amazon Studios

Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, Athena Wickham, Todd Howard and James Altman serve as executive producers.

"Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time", said Joy and Nolan in a release.

Howard expressed his eagerness for Nolan and Joy to take on the responsibility of bringing Fallout to screens, after working for "decades" to find the best fit. They'll work alongside Bethesda Game Studios and Fallout developer Bethesda Softworks.

The current Fallout television series project is still in its early development stages.

Details for the upcoming series are scarce as the studio ended their brief announcement teaser with the test pattern that's been synonymous with the Fallout series that reads: "Please stand by". Complete with a 1940s bent, the Fallout franchise envisions an America that was ravaged by a nuclear war in the year 2077. Westworld's Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are at the helm of the show. "And Jonah and Lisa are the flawless storytellers to bring this series to life", Chief Operating Officer and Co-Head of Television at Amazon Studio, Albert Cheng said.

Still, just the existence of a TV show leaves me hopeful that someone can do right by the world of Fallout - even if Bethesda hasn't been able to manage that as of late.

"'Fallout' is an iconic global franchise, with legions of fans worldwide and a rich, deeply compelling storyline that powers it". The tone is said to be "serious and harsh", with "moments of ironic humor" sprinkled in. Let us know in the comment section below! Under their Amazon deal, Nolan and Joy are now in pre-production on thriller series "The Peripheral", based on the William Gibson novel.

The hit HBO series has amassed '43 Emmy nominations along with DGA, WGA, PGA and SAG Awards nominations, ' according to Deadline.

Joy recently directed the film Reminiscence, which stars Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Ferguson, and Thandie Newton.
