According to Pocket Gamers, the new Metal Slug game is developed by TiMi Studios and is tentatively named Metal Slug Code: J. Based on the trailer, it sports the classic arcade Metal Slug gameplay, which is a platform shooter game. The two publishers announced Metal Slug Code: J (working title), which will be coming to iOS and Android. SNK is not any stranger to licensing out its IP to other builders and whereas one of the precious projects find yourself being not fantastic, I after all obtain somewhat a good deal of religion in Metal Slug Code: J after that gameplay video.

Meanwhile, a release date, finalised title, and pricing for Metal Slug Code: J have yet to be announced. While the general manager of TiMi Studios Winco Qin added: "Metal Slug is one of the great arcade franchises and a flawless fit for mobile play". For those unfamiliar, TiMi Studios is also responsible for developing Call of Duty: Mobile, as well as multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game Arena of Valor.

We also got a trailer, which you can watch below. While I won't personally get my hopes up, I do have to say it would be nice to get a proper update to the Metal Slug series on mobile that isn't filled to the brim with greedy monetization.

Being a big fan of the Metal Slug series, I'm quite excited for this game to release on mobile.

A teaser trailer, which you can check out below, depicts recognisable Metal Slug gameplay, albeit with 3D-modelled characters, rather than the series' traditional 2D sprites.
