The game was to take place on August 6 between the Steelers and the Cowboys.

Previous Steelers coach Bill Cowher supports the decision to reschedule this summer Pro Football Hall of Fame Event due to the pandemic.

ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported the update Thursday.

The decision is expected to delay the teams' report dates for training camp.

As of now, training camps across the National Football League are scheduled to begin on July 28.

The Steelers and Cowboys also agreed to delay their game to August 5, 2021.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame stated events tied to this year's Enshrinement Week will be moved to August 5-9, 2021.

For now, the regular season is scheduled to kick off September 10 with the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Houston Texans. "We'll continue at that and expect to have some resolutions relatively soon that will advise the clubs at that time". Sure, there have been plenty of virtual adjustments by the league to pull off the draft and get through the offseason.

It's unclear whether the recent surge in COVID-19 cases could change the outlook, though. The NFL is moving to a 17-game schedule then and that might cause a drop in exhibition contests as well.
