Graeme McDowell will withdraw from the Travelers Championship on Wednesday morning after being informed that his caddie has tested positive for the coronavirus.

World number five Webb Simpson, fresh off a win in SC, will sit out as a family member tested positive while Koepka's brother Chase, who qualified on Monday, withdrew as he played a practice round this week with Brooks and McDowell.

Ken Comboy believes he picked up Covid-19 on a commercial flight following the Tour's first restart in Fort Worth in Texas two weeks ago.

"If there's any chance that I could have it, I am not keen on risking the possibility that I could pass it onto anyone else this week", said McDowell.

Brooks Koepka said he has not tested positive for COVID-19, "but as I've said all along, I'm taking this very seriously". "I don't want to risk anyone's life if they have respiratory issues or underlying conditions".

The show continues on the PGA Tour, and that development comes as no surprise to Rory McIlroy.

Northern Irishman McDowell had two negative tests this week but considered it prudent to drive straight home since he spent plenty of time with his caddie over the last 10 days and also felt some fatigue and muscle soreness.

Koepka, Elliott and Koepka's coach, Claude Harmon III, were all tested when they arrived at the tournament Monday.

The commissioner also said that there would be "serious repercussions" for players who are found to have breached the tour's safety protocols.

"I feel like the Tour has done an fantastic job of playing golf in a safe environment, given how many people are out here playing, competing and staying safe", Mickelson said. "We have got to do everything we cannot to spread it". We have to protect the field. "That's the reason we have these rules". The exception was when Elliott attended a funeral with McDowell and Comboy for a close friend in Orlando. The withdrawal of Koepka and McDowell follows the positive test for Nick Watney and Cameron Champ.
