"General Soleimani, including political and military officials from the United States and other governments, and the worldwide police have been notified in this regard".

Alqasimehr said the warrants had been issued on charges of murder and terrorist action.

Recall that the United States military killed Soleimani in an air strike outside Baghdad global airport.

Authorities in Iran have approved a measure to ask Interpol to put US President Donald Trump on its worldwide Red Notice of wanted persons over the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani, Iranian media including Mehr News and the Fars News Agency have reported, citing judicial officials.

Now Iran's senior prosecutor wants revenge and has Trump at the top of the list, saying the president will be facing prosecution "even after his term as president is over". Tehran has requested the help of Interpol in securing their arrest. A Red Notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action.

On January 3, a US Drone strike in Iraq killed Soleimani, leader of the Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force. Interpol has no requirement for making any of the notices public, though some do get published on its website.

The assassination came after months of incidents raising tensions between the two countries and ultimately saw Iran retaliate with a ballistic missile strike targeting American troops in Iraq.

"It is unlikely Interpol would grant Iran's request as its guideline for notices forbids it from "undertaking any intervention or activities of a political" nature", the TV station said.
