Interactive Entertainment purchased and revived in 2017 after its closure in 2016. Things have been quiet since then, but sources are beginning to speak up, confirming that the game is set in an open-world Hogwarts and other details.

The big-budget title will reportedly allow players to take control of a wizard Hogwarts to explore both the school and surrounding areas (likely Hogsmeade and the Forbidden Forest).

Bloomberg's sources revealed that the leaked trailer for the Harry Potter RPG was a legitimate video of the game, albeit from a very early version of the game.

Warner Bros. has not responded to Report Door's request for comment.

Bloomberg claimed that Avalanche Computer software administration has not addressed Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling's the latest transphobic statements, which reportedly "made some associates of the crew unpleasant". However, one person working on the game told the outlet that Rowling has "very little direct involvement" on it. The publisher still hasn't announced the game (due to E3's cancellation), but that doesn't mean it was scrapped or put on hold. Interactive itself will be sold off, which could potentially have ramifications for the Harry Potter game. BBC presenter Lizo Mzimba said the game could be called Harry Potter: Magic Awakened.

Many spoke out against Rowling's comments, including those who have worked close with her and starred in Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts franchises - Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Eddie Redmayne. We might see it at one of the upcoming PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X events. It was originally planned for reveal sometime after August 22 and DC FanDome, when Warner Bros.is reportedly revealing its new Batman game.
