Juve's 30-year-old midfielder Miralem Pjanic, who will head to Barcelona for a deal in the region of £60m, also completed a medical in Turin on Saturday.

Miralem Pjanic is set to move in the other direction and also underwent his Barcelona medical in Turin on Sunday under the supervision of a Blaugrana doctor.

The Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that the deal will see Juve pay Barca 10 million euros ($11.2 million), and that Arthur has agreed personal terms with Juve.

The Brazil global then flew straight back to Spain and will resume training with Barca ahead of their match against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, with his £72.5m transfer to Italy all-but officially announced.

And, with Barca keen to wrap up the business before June 30 for budgetary reasons, Sunday's medical examinations are the final hurdle before the dual transfers can be completed, although the players themselves will not leave their respective clubs until the 2019-20 season is completed.

Meanwhile, Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri has expressed his desire to keep Pjanic at the club despite the plans in motion.

Arthur, the 23-year-old Brazilian, had been reluctant to move, initially wanting to stay at the Camp Nou, but Juventus convinced him.

Arthur has played 71 games for Barcelona since arriving from Gremio in 2018.

'He'll be with us until the end of August, ' he said.

Details of the deal are expected to be finalised soon, and are likely to end Sarri's plans for a reunion with Chelsea's Jorginho.
