He also addressed the budget, saying it wasn't seemingly unlimited like they feel the movies have, although reports have said that the Disney+ shows have a much higher budget than normal series; something more along the lines of Game of Thrones than normal TV.

The show, which was filming in Prague until production shut down over the health crisis, was also described as the "first Marvel show or movie that had budget constraints" by Mackie.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was due to be the big Disney Plus release of this summer, with a tentative August release date set back in February.

The Avengers star summed up his thoughts by saying that Marvel should, ultimately, hire the best people for the position but at least make an effort to diversify the crew. "So instead of a two-hour movie, a six or eight-hour movie".

For Variety's Actors on Actors issue, Anthony opened up to Snowpiercer star Daveed Diggs about the lack of diversity and representation in Marvel's films. And so the stunt stuff - everything is just on another level.

While he didn't officially appear in an Avengers movie until Infinity War, Mackie's The Falcon is the first person of color in the Marvel Cinematic Universe who received a substantial starring role.

'We've had one Black producer; his name was Nate Moore, ' Mackie said.

"Then when you do Black Panther, you have a Black director, Black producer, you have a Black costume designer, you have a Black stunt choreographer".

"The actor, who has played the Falcon since 2014's Captain America: "The Winter Solider, said that only "[hiring] the black people for the black movie" could suggest that "they're not good enough when you have a mostly white cast". Because it starts to build a new generation of people who can put something on their resumé to get them other jobs, and if we've got to divvy out as a percentage, divvy it out.

Mackie called for hiring changes going forward, something that both he and Diggs are able to push for given their leading men status. Find out everything we know about the series here.
