The first round of tests were taken June 15 as the first step towards pre-production, with filming set to resume on Wednesday, June 17, at Television City. There is no airdate set yet but the hope is for the half-hour soap to return to originals in early-to-mid July. Production shut down mid-March, and after the last new episode ran on April 23, the series has been running classic reruns to satisfy fans.

As for the safety measures, the CBS show will have an on-set coordinator who will oversee safety for the cast and crew, as well as several precautions.

The cast and crew will be tested for coronavirus daily as part of the health protocol.

What may be able to assume is that CBS' decision to put The Bold and the lovely back into production is a sign that the company slowly begin starting work on other shows in the coming months.

The production will follow COVID-19 safety protocols, which were set up by Los Angeles County, the City of Los Angeles, and Television City. Some scripts that had already been completed were redone to accommodate new guidelines. All will be required to social distance themselves and wear face masks at all times, with an exception made for actors who are filming a scene.

Along with fellow CBS daytime drama The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the attractive had about 4-6 weeks worth of episodes in the can when the production shutdown began on March 17.

A safety plan has reportedly been in development since The Bold and the handsome initially suspended production in March. Bradley Bell is the executive producer.
