The Ayyappanum Koshiyum director Sachy used to reportedly practice law as a profession.

Malayalam film writer and director Sachy aka KR Sachidanandan suffered a cardiac arrest on Tuesday and is now receiving treatment at the critical care unit of a private hospital in Thrissur, Kerala.

The director's medical report states that he was brought in on Tuesday morning, a few hours after undergoing a total hip replacement surgery in another hospital in Thrissur. His condition is critical and is on ventilator support. A multi-disciplinary team is involved in his care. "He is presently neurologically obtunded and his CT scan indicates hypoxic brain damage", his medical report reads. "His recovery can be prognosticated only after 48-72 hours post insult". He entered the film industry as a writer in collaboration with writer Sethu. They also worked together on films like Robin Hood, Make Up Man and Seniors.

In the early 2010s, the writer duo parted ways and Sachy started writing films independently.

As an independent writer, he scripted Mohanlal starrer "Run Baby Run" and Dileep starrer "Ramaleela". His second directorial "Ayyappanum Koshiyum" also became a super hit.

Ayyappanum Koshiyum starred Biju Menon and Prithviraj in the lead roles.

Released in February 2020, Ayyapanum Koshiyum is one of the biggest blockbusters in the career of Malayalam actor Prithviraj and the movie was directed by Sachy, who had earlier directed to the movie Anarkali with the same hero.
