'The Bold & The Beautiful' to Become First U.S. Series to Resume Shooting Amid Pandemic

It will be the first U.S. TV show to start filming again since a lockdown was introduced in Los Angeles in mid-March as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The CBS soap opera series is already in pre-production and the show will resume filming on Wednesday (June 17) at Television City in Los Angeles.

The new episodes are expected to begin airing on CBS in early-to-mid July.

The Bold and the attractive, which was recently renewed through 2022, began official pre-production today.

The Bold and the handsome has also hired a COVID-19 coordinator who will be on set at all times to make sure safety guidelines are adhered to.

There will be an on-set coordinator who will oversee safety for the cast and crew, as well as several precautions: cast and crew will be required to wear masks when they're not on camera, scripts are being rewritten in order to allow for staggering the amount of people on set, and everyone involved will be regularly tested.

Additionally, The Bold and the attractive has hired a COVID-19 coordinator who will be on set at all times, insuring that the production follows the safety guidelines.

Along with fellow CBS daytime drama The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the lovely had about 4-6 weeks worth of episodes in the can when the production shutdown began on March 17.

"I am thrilled to dive into years 34 and 35 of 'The Bold and the attractive, '" executive producer Bradley Bell said of the renewal.
