Joining Reitman for the Reunited Apart cast get together were Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, Weaver, and the director's son Jason, who is now making the latest instalment in the spooky franchise. It's akin to him saying "I can't tell you anything other than the fact that Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a Ghostbusters sequel". Ghostbusters isn't like the Spider-Man franchise, so for now, just know that Ghostbusters: Afterlife will arrive in theaters on March 5, 2021, and we'll see what happens after that. But you guys have been working on a little sequel. "Can you tell us anything, and if so, what can you tell us?"

He also confirmed that he has already started developing the potential next installment to Afterlife.

This is where Jason Reitman responds, "Yeah, no, I can't tell you anything, but we are working on another installment". It's been extraordinarily valuable, and we have a lot of time now. As a director, I've never had this opportunity, to actually kind of take a pause and breathe and look at the movie again. "We're coming out in 2021".

Jason Reitman wrote the screenplay for GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE with Gil Kenan. And once Jason gets dad Ivan Reitman on the call, suddenly the main cast Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts appear, too.

Reitman's son Jason - who is directing the upcoming sequel "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" - also joined the laid-back Zoom call, along with Gad's fellow super-fan Kumail Nanjiani, theme song writer-performer Ray Parker Jr. and several actors who contributed smaller roles in the blockbuster supernatural comedy.
