Just imagine the two incredible singers and instrumentalists going at it from their grand pianos.

Alicia Keys and John Legend are celebrating the historic holiday of Juneteenth with a special edition of the "Verzuz" battles.

This year's Juneteenth celebration has a heightened sense of importance considering the ongoing protests taking place in the US and beyond. The battle that will commemorate Juneteenth will feature the two Grammy-winning singers playing our favorite piano hits.

Since April 11, the online battle series created by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland during the pandemic has drawn 1.6 million followers to the Verzuz Instagram account, where a Saturday post about Keys' and Legend's battle can be found.

So far, the weekly series that kick-started with Swizz Beatz and Timbaland's face-off, has by now seen showdowns between Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, Ne-Yo and Johnta Austin, T-Pain and Lil Jon. No official victor is declared on the Instagram Live series, however, fans debate it out in the comments section during the event. Legend also took home the Grammy for Best New Artist, an award Keys had previously won in 2002.

Both Alicia Keys and John Legend have racked up some pretty impressive catalogs throughout their successful music careers that have spanned multiple decades. "Alicia is different. She got hit hits", one commenter wrote on the Verzuz Instagram post.

"That's what he said to me the other day", Alicia added. Alas, John Legend. This goin to be Epic. "Chrissy", aka Chrissy Teigen, has already made a cameo on at least one of her husband's at-home concerts this year, so there's a good chance she could appear for the Juneteeth show as well. The idea of a piano battle against Alicia had been floated by John prior to the official announcement.
