Thousands in mourning are honoring George Floyd during the memorial service today.

Both games will be offline from between 2pm and 4pm ET on the 4th of June, 2020.

With all that is going on regarding the highly important Black Lives Matter movement, Rockstar Games has made a decision to pay tribute in its own way.

According to Kotaku, other Take-Two games will also go offline to show support for Black Lives Matter, including National Basketball Association 2K, Dragon City, and Monster Legends. Infinity Ward, Nintendo, the Pokémon Company, and others posted messages of support on social media.

Others are pledging to make more meaningful changes going forward, through actions and policies in companies to promote minority representation, and though making promises to more stringently combat racism in already released games. That second tweet contained a link to organizations with a focus on civil rights that have a high rank on Charity Navigator, a website that tracks the accountability and efficiency of 501 (c) 3 charities in the United States. Rockstar's tweet implies the company will donate to the victims and families of victims, but it hasn't disclosed an amount or specific charity at this time.
