Sega announced on Wednesday that it will release the Game Gear Micro, a miniature version of its classic handheld Game Gear console.

Looks like it's launching on June 10 in Japan for ¥4980, which roughly translates to USD$45. It will also be available in a variety of colors, including blue, yellow, red and the standard black. If you're a Sega fan, you're going to want to grab them all because they each contain four different games. It seems SEGA's Game Gear Micro will feature a screen even smaller than the Game Boy Micro. It runs on two AAA batteries or you can play for a longer period of time with a USB cable (sold separately). It also provides save states for your games, which means you can cheese even the most hard sections of your favorite retro titles.

The Blue model includes Sonic Chaos, Gunstar Heroes, Sylvan Tale and Baku Baku Animal.

Yellow: Nazopuyo Aruru no Ru, Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya, Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict, and Shining Force Gaiden: Ensei - Jashin no Kuni he.

After the successful release of the SEGA Genesis Mini, it appears another retro console is in the works at SEGA. For comparison, the Game Boy Micro used a 2-inch display.

For those unaware, the Game Gear was released back in 1990, and was the company's answer to the Game Boy. Though we wonder how easy will it be to game on such a tiny screen.
