Samsung claims to redefine TV viewing with the Sero

Back in April 2019, Samsung announced "The Sero," a new TV with a vertical screen.

The Sero's display orientation technology connects seamlessly with users' mobile devices to smoothly and naturally display content in traditional horizontal formats, as well as vertical formats designed for mobile consumption.

Called the world's first mobile-friendly TV, the new lifestyle TV features engineered to enhance a viewing experience, including Samsung's established QLED technology but is fundamentally created to tap into a generation of social media users, ushering in a new era of content consumption and delivering a mobile-optimised experience whilst rotating the screen automatically to mirror mobile content. It also comes with Bixby which will allow you to control this TV using your voice. The Sero is created to adapt to each consumers' needs for mirroring phone content, which can be done by tapping the user's phone icon on The Sero.

The Sero also boasts a multi-channel speaker which is equipped with 60W, 4.1ch front-firing speakers for a rich and bass-enhancing audio experience.

The Sero is the latest addition to Samsung's line of "lifestyle" TVs, which also includes the Serif, which aims to blend in with your interior, and the Frame, which showcases art when it's not playing video content. Users will be able to amp up the sound for a fully immersive entertainment experience, whether streaming music, mirroring content from smartphones and scrolling through their social media feeds, or watching their favourite shows. If you're bored of seeing black bars on your TV when mirroring your device, then the Sero solves that problem. In landscape mode Ambient Mode+ allows the TV to blend into its surroundings.

However, Samsung announced at the 2020 Consumer Electrics Show that it would be expanding the product to the USA and other global markets, including the UK.
