Man Utd offered Sergej Milinkovic-Savic transfer option after Lazio chief decision

However, Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has insisted the player will be able to assess his options this summer.

That clearly contradicts claims from FootMercato that Lazio owner Claudio Lotito was tempted to slash Milinkovic-Savic's £100 million price-tag by about £30 million.

Tare has been Lazio's sporting director since 2008, and the former Albania striker explained to Sky Sport Italia the secrets behind the club's recent rise to the top of Serie A.

The Serbia global has been heavily linked with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Serie A rivals Inter and Juventus.

'I think a lot will change on the transfer market, because the pandemic is a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence that transformed everything, so we have to be creative, but above all very clear on our planning for the present and future.

"I think that prices won't drop for first-rate players".

The Serbian is one of Lazio's most sought-after players, and he could leave the club in the next transfer window alongside Marusic, to go to PSG.

"Milinkovic-Savic has a relationship with the club and city that will never die".

"The wishes of the player must be understood and we will analyse any offers without any pressure and for the good of both parties. If both can be satisfied, offers will be considered but otherwise we will be happy for him to stay with us".

"We will shortly be announcing a new signing, Escalante from Eibar", said Tare.

Milinkovic-Savic and Lazio are set for a return to the field as Serie A is scheduled to restart on June 20.

A player who's supreme technical gifts bely his towering frame, "The Sergeant" is at his brilliant best in the same, left-sided midfield role that Pogba made his own during his heady days at Juventus.
