"We see this move by Trump as an attempt to discredit the mass George Floyd rebellion as the work of small numbers of "antifa" conspirators and outside agitators", says "Doug", an organizer with Atlanta Antifascists, an anti-fascist organization in Georgia.

The National Guard - the USA reserve military force for domestic emergencies - had been deployed in 15 states to help police forces deal with the unrest.

Soon after the president's declaration, "But the KKK" and "Proud Boys", were trending on Twitter, with many noting that the president had singled out the "antifa" movement but ignored multiple organizations tied to white supremacy.

"The National Guard did a great job, and should be used in other States before it is too late!" he wrote, adding that the National Guard arrived in Minneapolis and "shut down" Antifa and others.

Antifa have expanded their definition of fascist/fascism to include not just white supremacists and other extremists, but also many conservatives and supporters of President Trump.

"Other Democrat run Cities and States should look at the total shutdown of Radical Left Anarchists in Minneapolis last night", the president continued.

Trump on Sunday, meanwhile, praised the use of the National Guard to stop the unrest. Shortly before he died, amateur cell phone video showed the arresting officer, Derek Chauvin, 44, press his knee into Floyd's neck while Floyd was bound in handcuffs and lying on the pavement.

President Donald Trump was rushed to an underground bunker on Friday night and is said to be rattled by the protests.

They will get full support from the U.S. Department of Justice - including the FBI, federal Marshals Service, ATF and DEA, as well as all 93 U.S. Attorneys across the country, he said.

The violence has only escalated since. Nearly all states in the USA suffered in one of the worst race riots in the country in decades.

Police in several cities have cracked down in what they've said is an effort to control crowds and keep citizens safe.

District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser said the Trump administration floated the idea of taking over the Metropolitan Police Department, a proposal she strongly rejected. The soldiers will also be armed, the officials said, citing the potential threat from the protesters. Most people who show up to counter or oppose white supremacist public events are peaceful demonstrators, but when antifa show up, as they frequently do, they can increase the chances that an event may turn violent.

The violence, he alleged, has been driven by Antifa.

The company applied the label Monday to a tweet by Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida.

That law has not been expanded to domestic groups, mainly due to fears it could tempt a leader to deploy it against political rivals.

Citing the Federal Bureau of Investigation, a separate memo issued by the Department of Homeland Security revealed that "a white supremacist extremist Telegram channel incited followers to engage in violence and start the "boogaloo" - a term used by some violent extremists to refer to the start of a second Civil War - by shooting in a crowd". One day after Barr refused a second invitation to provide testimony, Committee Chairman Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday said the committee would answer his "defiance of Congress" by scheduling hearings with several former officials concerning the "improper politicization" of the DOJ under Barr's leadership.

In Hennepin County, which includes Minneapolis, 47 of the 57 people arrested in protest incidents through Saturday morning had provided a Minnesota address to authorities, according to Jeremy Zoss, a spokesman for the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.

"Usually you see this when there's an interest to deflect conversations from protests to just accusing the protests of being violent, organized or having backers that are evil,"said Filippo Menczer, a professor of informatics and computer science at Indiana University".
