Salman Khan pays tribute to Wajid Khan

The duo shot to fame with the Salman Khan blockbuster Dabangg in 2010, and there has been no looking back. Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas tweeted, "Terrible news".

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Bollywood stars including Katrina Kaif, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Preity Zinta, Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrat Bharucha mourned the demise of music composer Wajid Khan.

Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani said he was heartbroken.

He also shared a video, talking about the late composer.

However, some reports suggested the composer had also been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Salim further stated, "He had multiple issues". He died in the wee hours of Monday morning and had underlying kidney issues. As per Salim, Wajid had a kidney infection and due to a complication, he passed away. He was on a ventilator for the last four days after his situation started getting worse. "Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical". Wajid, who along with his brother Sajid Khan produced music for many Bollywood hits including Dabangg, Wanted and Jai Ho, had been suffering from kidney problem for the past few years.

They also crafted Salman Khan's recent track Pyaar Karona, an anthem to encourage listeners to do their part in fighting the pandemic.

Sajid and Wajid shared a close relationship with Salman Khan, collaborating with him on Partner (2008), Hello (2008), God Tussi Great Ho! Neha in her emotional post wrote, "Gone too soon". "Whenever we met we talked about music and things in general", she tweeted. "We will miss you Wajid bhai, thank you for the music".

Katrina Kaif put out a picture of the departed musician on Instagram and noted that she will always remember his smile. ABP quoted a source saying, "Wajid's mother Razina had already contracted Coronavirus before the late musician was infected with the virus". You will truly be missed wajid bhai.

"Wajid Vil always love, respect, remember n miss u as a person n ur talent, Love u n may your handsome soul rest in peace". Wajid's mentor and Bollywood megastar, Salman Khan, too became emotional as he wrote, "May your handsome soul rest in peace".

Akshay Kumar wrote, "Shocked and saddened to hear about the untimely demise of #WajidKhan, talented and ever-smiling.gone too soon".
