Lillard informed Yahoo Sports: "If we return as well as I do not have a chance to make the playoffs, I will appear to function, I'll go to technique as well as I'll be with my group".

"I just feel like that would be the matchup people want to see", Lillard told Yahoo Sports.

Lillard spoke with Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports on Tuesday, and he said he'll be sitting on the sidelines if the Trail Blazers don't have a "true opportunity" to make the playoffs in a rebooted National Basketball Association season.

Lillard's warning comes from a proposal in which the league aimed to meet a 70-game broadcast criteria that would net most teams their due share of TV revenue.

"I feel like a play-in tournament would be flawless, just because we actually were in striking distance and also had enough games to get in the playoffs", Lillard said. "I'm going to do all that (expletive) and then I'm going to be sitting right on that bench during the games", Lillard said.

Lillard said he was in favour of a play-in style tournament involving seeds 7-12 to determine the final postseason berths.

The Memphis Grizzlies are ahead of the Trail Blazers in the Western Conference.

Multiple reports have said that the National Basketball Association is keen to ensure that all teams complete a minimum of 70 regular seasons games in order to fulfill contractual obligations with regional television networks. While this scenario may be the easiest to pull off, at least one player on the Trail Blazers isn't happy.

But, Lillard says that just ain't going to fly with him. because he says if Portland - which is now 3.5 games out of 8th place (and the final playoff spot) in the West - doesn't get a fair shake to make the postseason, he's out. So now, they won't be coming back as the only rusty players.

In the unlikely event that a full 82-game schedule is completed, Lillard believes the Blazers would earn the right to face the first-place Lakers. And if everybody's rusty, we can come in here and beat everybody.

Over the weekend, National Basketball Association commissioner Adam Silver sent a memo to general managers soliciting their input about formats for returning to play. For instance, if the Warriors are asked to resume play without a path to the postseason, I don't expect we'll see Stephen Curry participate.

"I feel like both series could be a little bit hectic for the Lakers, but I think more so us, because of the experience and where we are in our careers". But if the league says it's only taking playoff teams, then I'm off to a head start in my summer training", he said. "I'll be pissed off because I feel like they basically stopped the season and went straight into the playoffs.
