The British domestic football league gave the greenlight to return, known as Project Restart, at a shareholders meeting.

On Thursday the league announced it had come to an agreement on when to restart, with Manchester City vs Arsenal and Aston Villa vs Sheffield United, the two games postponed for the Carabao Cup final, kicking off proceedings.

It means that Liverpool looks set to be crowned champion - their first top flight domestic title in 30 years. As it stands, Sky and BT Sport have the rights to 47 games with the remaining 47 games expected to be shared between the Comcast-backed pay broadcaster, BT as well as Amazon and the BBC.

'A return to professional football has been the culmination of weeks of hard work from across the game from people whose workloads and demands have already been increased to cope with the impact of Covid-19 on their clubs or areas of work within Scottish football.

In the USA, games are shown across NBC, CNBC and NBCSN.

Receiving the all-clear for professional clubs to begin pre-season training from June 11, the Joint Response Group will circulate guidelines to Premiership clubs to ensure training grounds and stadia are equipped to deal with the new safety regime next week.

All the ties will be behind closed doors.

Liverpool now hold a massive 25 point advantage at the top of the table with Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Norwich City in the relegation places.

"The competition has been an integral part of the English football calendar for almost 150 years, and we'd like to thank the Premier League Executive and Clubs for their support in scheduling the remaining matches during this unprecedented time", FA Chief Executive Officer Mark Bullingham said. "The health and wellbeing of players, staff and supporters remains our priority".

There will potentially be games every night of the week with four time slots on Saturday and four on Sunday to allow fans to watch as many games as possible.
