Fortnite fans will have to wait awhile longer to see the once-in-a-lifetime Doomsday live event, which Epic Games has officially called The Device event. Players have been speculating (and data-mining) that the event will involve the NPC stronghold The Agency and the deadly device Midas has been building all season.

Epic Games has confirmed that the new season will now begin on Thursday, 11th June, following several delays likely owing to the effects of the new coronavirus.

But the next Fortnite live event has been pushed back, Epic announced today, with The Device event now taking place at 7pm United Kingdom time on Saturday June 6.

Fortnite's upcoming season was set to start June 5.

Fortnite seasons used to last roughly a couple of months, but Chapter 2's first and second seasons were both extended to four - the current season was originally meant to wrap up on May 1st.

Fortnite players will have another week to finish their Battle Pass challenges and confirm their appearance choices for various characters, such as Brutus, TNTina, Meowscles, and Maya. This one-time-only live event will instead take place on Saturday, June 6 at 2 PM ET.
