Update: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition has received a release date of August 27 worldwide on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android, per Square Enix PR and a new trailer below.

The game is also launching physically and digitally in Japan on the same day on the same platforms. Additional dungeons have been added to the game, and a "Mimic" feature will allow players to use Memory Crystals to alter their appearance and "mimic" one of the various NPCs found in the game. This potent and precious dew comes from a Myrrh Tree and seems the only protection against a poisonous gas that threatens the world.

You-either on your own or with up to four friends-will embark on perilous quests, explore lovely lands full of secrets and face the risky monsters that lurk within.

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will also launch in the west on August 27. That means improved HD visuals and enhanced audio and new voice acting that adds life to the characters. You won't need to worry about what system your friends will be purchasing the game on, since it will support cross-play between the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and even Android and Apple iOS. Online multiplayer is joining the fun as well, with up to four-player co-op enabled.

New Challenging Dungeons - This updated version of the game also features new dungeons for you and your friends to battle through. We could say more, but we'd rather let you discover them for yourselves. By collecting stamps and visiting Moogle Houses, or completing hard dungeons, players will acquire unique crystals which will allow them to change their appearance to that of their favorite FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES characters and continue their adventure in style. If you want to add a bit more pizazz to your party, now you can!
