Several companies in the US tech sector have extended work-from-home for employees in recent days.

Google will take all the measures of social distancing and will not allow all the employees to be present in the office. Alhtough offices for both companies will be opening, employees who can continue to carry out their duties remotely will be able to do so from home. Employees were originally told the work-from-home policy would remain in place until at least June 1.

Meanwhile, CNBC first reported that Facebook will open a majority of its offices that got closed in wake of the coronavirus situation on July 6. Pichai announced the move in a memo to employees on late Thursday.

Luckily for Google and Facebook though, much of its work is virtual and can be done remotely.

Facebook has also started working on their back-to-work strategies. The US company also announced that it would continue to pay the salaries of its employees who could not work for various reasons in this process. Naficy notes: "Facebook is showing true leadership by letting their staff work from home".

Facebook has more than 3,000 employees across its offices in London, and immediately contacted other employees who during that period visited its offices in the capital.
