New tracking options, still no NFC In addition, the sources claim that the Mi Band 5 will be getting menstrual cycle tracking, as well as tracking of blood oxygen levels. However, some new info casts doubt on global NFC support, but mentions a new “Mi Smart Band 5” version with a model number XMSH11HM (the regular Band 5 will be XMSH10HM). To recall, Mi Band 4 was launched as Mi Smart Band 4 in India in September previous year. It is expected to have a 1.2 inch screen with thin edges - the current Mi Band 4 has a 0.95 "screen".

According to Tizen Help, the Mi Band 5 will have a "Personal Activity Intelligence (PAI)". This feature turns heart rate data into a single, personal score and it alerts users how much activity they will need in order to stay healthy. That also signals that the company is actively working on this smart band, and that it may launch soon.

We still don't know if it will also land on the European market, but if we have to put forward a hypothesis then the nature of the rebranding - which goes to associate the device with a successful product in our market like Mi Band 4 - makes us lean towards the yes.

The launch of the next version of the popular Mi Band, Xiaomi's smart bracelet, is approaching. The Mi Band 5 will be announced at the end of June or in the starting of July. They offer a lot for the price, that's for sure.

Sadly there's no sign of onboard Global Positioning System, which is a feature we'd hoped to see in the new Xiaomi fitness tracker.

Until now, Xiaomi only integrated the voice assistant in the Chinese version of the Mi Band, which came with a built-in microphone to use the Xiao AI assistant.

Chances are that the design will be at least somewhat similar to the Mi Band 4. The device will ship with a silicone band, nearly certainly. However, the official release date is not yet out.

More Xiaomi Mi Band 5 information will probably surface in the near future.
