No new cases of COVID-19 today

The Dubois County Health Department confirms two more positive cases of novel coronavirus, bringing the countywide total to 171.

Saturday's report of zero new cases came after one new case was announced on Friday.

The case on Friday was linked to the St Margaret's Rest Home cluster in Auckland.

The county also received nearly 1,994 diagnostic tests results for the novel coronavirus - the highest daily return since the county began releasing those numbers at the beginning of this month.

Because of that person's connection to the earlier case, they have been in isolation since the beginning of Level 4.

He added: "Going into the long weekend, the Dubois County Health Department and I want to emphasize the importance of continuing to follow our state and local guidelines to prevent COVID-19 spread". The country's combined total of confirmed and probable cases remains at 1,504.

There have been no further deaths reported.

There was also no change to the number of people who have recovered from coronavirus at 1455, representing 97 per cent of all confirmed and probable cases as having recovered from the illness.

One person remains at Middlemore hospital, but they are not in the Intensive Care Unit.

The Health Ministry said another 31,000 people had registered with the NZ Covid Tracer app, with 324,000 now signed up. On Friday laboratories completed 5604 Covid-19 tests, taking the total to 255,850.
