There will be another Newton playing football at Auburn.

Caylin Newton, the younger brother of former Auburn star Cam Newton, announced Friday night that he will transfer to Auburn.

The 6-foot, 195-pound Caylin Newton will be eligible immediately as a graduate transfer. He will walk on with the Tigers, who are already at their 85-player scholarship limit. He played a big role in Howard's win over UNLV, which marked the biggest point-spread upset in college football history.

Following in the footsteps of a legend is never easy and it's even more hard when that icon is your brother. He played in fewer than four games last season, which leaves him with two extra years of eligibility.

He won Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year as a freshman and was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore. Caylin spent the last three years at Howard. He took off as a passer in his second season, throwing for 2,610 yards with 22 touchdown passes and 555 rushing yards.

It will certainly be hard for Caylin to match the accomplishments Cam achieved in his lone season with the Tigers. As for Cam, he began his college career at Florida before transferring to a junior college, and then to Auburn, where he led the Tigers to a national championship.
