Back in January 2019, former Dallas Cowboys running back Darren McFadden was arrested in Texas after driving while intoxicated at a Whataburger.

"Is he alive?" one officer asks.

In January of 2019, just over one year after he retired from the National Football League after 10 seasons, Darren McFadden was arrested for drunk driving and resisting arrest in a Dallas Fort-Worth Whataburger parking lot.

When McFadden doesn't respond to their knocks, officers begin shaking the SUV to try get his attention.

The officers rocked the auto back and forth, in an effort to stop it from moving, and then used a flashlight to break into the vehicle and get ahold of McFadden.

Wild video shows McFadden driving his vehicle into the wall of the restaurant while passed out at the wheel before officers scramble to detain him and prevent further damage.

Another angle (at the 3-minute mark of the video) from an officer's camera at the passenger window confirms that McFadden was indeed unconscious when he apparently hit the gas and slammed into the Whataburger. McFadden was then sentenced him to four days in jail, with one day served, and suspended his driver's license for 90 days. Later, in February, he reached a plea deal, allowing the arrest to be dropped in exchange for a guilty plea to the DWI.

McFadden was a No. 4 overall pick for the Oakland Raiders in 2008, played with them for seven years, and the finished his National Football League career with a three-year stint with the Dallas Cowboys. He spent seven seasons with the Raiders and finished out with the Cowboys, rushing for 5,421 yards and 28 total rushing touchdowns in his career.
