Free-agent running back Marshawn Lynch said his agent has been in discussions with the Seahawks about a potential return to Seattle. "And if not, s-t, I'm lookin" good. Prosise for the season over a three-week stretch. "So I ain't really tripping too much".

Perhaps the most telling quote from Lynch's interview is how he initially answered the question about his status with the Seahawks.

Marshawn Lynch #24 of the Seattle Seahawks walks to the huddle during the NFC Divisional Playoff game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on January 12 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

"Well, it's nearly on that expect the unexpected", Lynch said. For example, he had an acting role as the character Giggles in three episodes of season three of HBO's "Westworld", which concluded Sunday.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said earlier this season "never say never" about the prospect of a Lynch return.

He played in the final game for the Seahawks after several of their running backs were lost for the season. He then played in two playoff games. If he does re-sign with Seattle, fans will hope he can still contribute in a meaningful way.

The defensive tackle had a promising rookie season in 2017, appearing in 11 games, recording two sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery. After spending his first three-plus pro seasons with Buffalo, he was traded to Seattle during the 2010 season and nearly immediately endeared himself to fans with his earthquake-producing touchdown run in a home playoff win against the New Orleans Saints.

During five seasons with the Seahawks, the five-time Pro Bowl selection won Super Bowl XLVIII and led the National Football League in rushing touchdowns in 2013 and 2014, before retiring on the day of Super Bowl 50 in February 2016.
