Microsoft's Xbox Series X unveiling of third-party games will take place later this week on Thursday, but publisher Daedalic Entertainment has already beaten it to the punch.

Today, the developers finally chose to share some screenshots from their game to give us a clearer picture of the visual style of the game and potentially some gameplay elements.

The first thing you will probably notice is the design of Gollum.

Today, and thanks to the people over at GameStar, we now have a small batch of in-game screenshots and concept art that give us our first look at Middle-earth and the titular character in The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.

The screenshots show the One Ring-loving critter sneaking through locations in Mordor, and it's made clear that stealth will play a major part in the game.

While not a spectacular looking game to show off the next generation of gaming, these screenshots do show off some brilliant effects. Although we don't have enough details, we know that The Lord of the Rings - Gollum will be using Unreal Engine 4.

Creepy, cursed hobbit Gollum is starring in his own game, courtesy of Daedalic Entertainment, and a year after it was first announced we're finally getting a proper look at it.
