COVID-19 deaths in Northern Ireland rise to more than 400

Six people died in the last 24 hours while another 11 deaths occurred earlier but were only reported today.

17 new deaths from COVID-9 have been confirmed in Northern Ireland, according to the Department of Health dashboard.

There are now 26 intensive care beds being occupied by people infected with Covid-19.

It comes after new figures suggested the United Kingdom coronavirus death toll was now the highest in Europe.

The final total figure is expected to be significantly higher once deaths in the community are fully accounted for.

Seventeen more people have died in Northern Ireland as a result of Covid-19.
