For the volunteering trip last month, Charlotte wore a Zara children's dress in a monochrome houndstooth design - which is now sold out. The proud parents thanked everyone for their "lovely messages", as well as shared a new photo of their little girl.

They were taken ahead of her birthday on Saturday, at the royal residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Norfolk, eastern England.

Another wrote: "Happy Birthday Princess Charlotte".

Kate celebrated Charlotte's birthday by releasing a bunch of unseen and gorgeous photos. "Your mummy has wonderful hidden talents".

The palace posted four pics the day before Charlotte's birthday. "This is definitely a first, I think".

And a fourth approved with: "Happy Birthday, Princess Charlotte".

The royal family has found new ways to continue their duties and helping others amid the coronavirus outbreak. "May your birthday be full of sweetness and love".

The family's country home is two miles from the Her Majesty's Sandringham residence, however the monarch is now at Windsor castle in Berkshire.

"The images were taken by The Duchess as the family helped to pack up and deliver food packages for isolated pensioners in the local area".

In the photos, Charlotte can be seen knocking on a blue door with food in her hand.

Charlotte and her brothers George, six, and Louis, two, appeared together in April during another Instagram post.

Kate went on to say that, like frontline workers, new parents should feel confident in knowing they can ask for help - especially during the coronavirus pandemic.

"As organisations you're playing such a vital role, giving key information, you're hugely trusted by the public in general, and therefore the information that you provide is a lifeline to many people at this time", Kate told professionals from not-for-profit mental health organisations on a group call.
