He is not that type of person I can tell you that. When I left Jamaica Tallawahs, that team was a high-spirited team.

After the chat, when Miller was announced as the head coach and Gayle didn't back Sarwan's ambitions, the Guyanese assistant coach took this on his ego and started influencing foreign players to make fun of Gayle in front of junior lads. In the end, he concluded that this might be his last season playing for Tallawahs as he will not be playing in the next one. "I have another year's contract with the Tallawahs".

"Most of your career, I helped blossom it". Why would I get rid of Chris? The southpaw blamed Sarwan for his departure from Tallawahs, a team he had reportedly thought of retiring from. "The ownership and management of the Tallawahs will not be making any further comments on this matter as we are focusing on building the team for the future".

Russell said in 2019, he was not involved in anything with regards to the Tallawahs whom he said treated him like a player who was making his debut and whose opinion is not valued. That's what I got sent home for.

Floyd Reifer, the West Indies interim coach, spoke to Russell about taking over a similar role at the Tallawahs and his bowling front-foot position, which was putting pressure on his knee ligaments. "Who you guys planning on buying, I don't get no answers on that". He [Persaud] has been persuaded to get rid of Chris Gayle, he's not that type of person who will say "let's get rid of Gayle".

Russell pointed out that Reifer had messaged him to indicate that he might be the head coach for the Tallawahs and mentioned plans they have for the upcoming season. "So I just leave it", he said.

He said his respect for Gayle made him fearful to even approach the "Universe Boss" about whether the rumours were true. No one says anything to me. "Chris has a three-year contract, you're not supposed to breach your contract", he said. But the amount of complaints I used to get when I wasn't there, the amount of problems they had with Sarwan - Russell was the captain at that time - the amount of problems that Sarwan and the captain have ... so many players were traumatised because of Sarwan, ' said Gayle.

In an Instagram live last night, a day after Gayle lashed out at the Tallawahs management and assistant coach Ramnaresh Sarwan, Russell said he would play out the a year ago of his contract and "try and win because that is all I play for", but he said he would not be returning.

Chris Gayle is one of the world's biggest stars in cricket's limited overs formats.

Then, after a spell with the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, the Jamaican rejoined the franchise a year ago.

Looking ahead to what he said would be his final season with the Tallawahs if the eighth edition of the CPL is held August 19 to September 26 as scheduled, Russell said: "This is going to be an awkward dressing room".
