Kanika Kapoor is a popular singer.

A notice was served to Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor on Monday regarding an FIR registered against her for negligence and committing acts likely to spread a disease unsafe to life, police said. She was criticised heavily for not self-isolating despite testing having a travel history. She came under attack for negligence and not practising self-quarantine despite returning to the country from the United Kingdom amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Kanika Kapoor stated that she did not dodge the security at the airport and was tested negative nor did she show any symptoms when she was partying.

Days after being discharged from the hopsital post her coronavirus treatment, Kanika Kapoor released an official statement. "I want to do what I can to help", Kapoor said. She also wrote that several stories were doing the rounds and she was fully aware and knew that some information has been misrepresented.

Kanika said there were certain facts about her case which she wanted to clarify, starting with how every person that she came in contact with, be it in the UK, Mumbai or Lucknow has "shown no symptoms of COVID-19, in-fact all those tested have been negative". She reached Lucknow on March 11 to meet her family and there was no scanning system available for domestic flights.

However, she was slammed for hiding her travel history and attending parties upon her return from overseas, instead of quarantining herself. Kanika's sixth coronavirus test came out negative on April 6 following which she was discharged from the hospital. Her picture also received appreciation from many celebs and they sent their best wishes and love to her.

She added, "On the 14th and 15th March, I attended a friend's lunch and dinner". There was no party hosted by me and I was in absolute normal health.

She concluded the statement by saying: "Negativity thrown at a person does not change the reality".
