Ajaz was called to the police station in connection with a comment that he had made during a live Facebook session and was thereafter arrested. If there is an natural disaster in Delhi, a Muslim is responsible, i.e a Muslim is responsible for any incident. A Muslim is responsible for any incident. "But have you ever thought who is responsible for this conspiracy?", the actor allegedly said in his live video on Facebook. He allegedly further attacked the BJP government and accused them of defaming Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya Thackeray.

Ajaz was arrested in July a year ago for something similar; he was arrested for posting objectionable videos which could have caused hate among communities. Ajaz Khan has previously been arrested once for posting a communal TikTok video in June previous year.

A Mumbai Police spokesperson had said that the Cyber Police had received complaints along with some videos which had gone viral on social media.

This was not the first time Khan found himself on the wrong side of the law.

After investigations, Ajaz was arrested back in July.

According to the PTI, Ajaz's lawyer Nazneen Khatri sought bail for the actor, but the court rejected it saying his offence, for which he has been charged under Indian Penal Code Section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), is non-bailable.
