Comedian Joel McHale will host the reunion-like episode, which will speak with the aforementioned people about how the series has changed their lives.

The episode was confirmed on Twitter with a teaser trailer from Joel McHale, who has been confirmed as the host.

According to Variety, the new episode had already been teased by Jeff Lowe, 67, who took over the zoo from Joe Exotic, 57, but the release date had been unknown until a teaser trailer was released on Thursday.

Netflix's announcement video features the 48-year-old actor suited up in his best copycat Joe Exotic outfit.

An eighth episode, titled The Tiger King And I, will arrive on the streaming service on April 12. "It's eye-opening and hopefully, funny".

If you've seen "Tiger King", you would know that Shaq won't be visiting Joe Exotic anytime soon.

Notably, Carole Baskin and her husband don't appear to be involved with the project, which isn't surprising given their very public disappointment in the way they were portrayed in the seven-part series. Tiger King is really a disturbing look at the exotic animal trade in the States with a dash of polygamy, cults, rumoured murder, lots of guns, and batshit fashion.

In a statement given to Mashable, Netflix representatives described the installment as giving the cast "a chance to tell their story directly, giving us inside info, opinions, and insight into the controversial, captivating series that has become a global sensation".

Exotic is now serving 22 years on counts of murder for hire against his sworn enemy Carole Baskin, as well as animal abuse on some of his over 200 wild cats. But as we saw in the show, Joe has done some interviews from prison, so it's not not possible.

The charges and rivalry between Exotic and Baskin are discussed in the docuseries, that premiered on March 20.
