Florence Pugh - who recently scored her first Oscar nomination for her role in Little Women - has had to take to Instagram to call out bullies who are leaving trolling comments.

While the star is no stranger to being in the spotlight, she admitted that she's finally had enough after a birthday tribute she posted for Braff earlier in the week received a slew of nasty comments about their 21-year age gap.

The Midsommar actress then asked critics to simply unfollow her if they weren't willing to respect her and Zach's privacy.

In response to the comments, Pugh shared a short clip in which she told the "bullies" she will not allow that behaviour on her page.

"I don't know when it became a point system, I don't know why it's a cool thing, and that's never been what my page has been about". Pugh tries to have an Instagram page that brings "some light and tries to be positive and tries to make people smile".

Zach Braff was romantically linked to Florence Pugh this time a year ago, and the pair have managed to keep their relationship relatively private. Back in December, Zach dropped a princess emoji comment on one of Florence's Instas, and a troll chimed in to remind him of his age.

Many feel the 45-year-old Scrubs star is far too old to be dating the 24-year-old Black Widow actress. "And yet he got it??" "It makes me sad that during this time, when we really all need to be together, we need to be supporting one another, we need to be loving one another". Pugh said, "The world is aching, the world is dying, and some of you chose to bully for no reason".

According to Pugh, around eight minutes after posting the birthday image to Instagram, she was flooded with negative comments.

Florence Pugh attends the Louis Vuitton show as part of the Paris Fashion Week Womenswear Fall/Winter 2020/2021 on March 03, 2020 in Paris, France. I have been earning money since I was 17-years-old. "I became an adult when I was 18-years-old and I started paying taxes when I was 18-years-old".

"I am 24 years old". And I would never in my life, ever, ever tell anyone who they can and cannot love. "I really hope that I can continue this relationship with a lot of you", Pugh added.

Pugh explained that people who couldn't agree with those guidelines should unfollow her because abuse toward Braff is abuse toward her.

"The abuse that you're throwing at him, you're throwing at me", she added.
