Steve Carell's new comedy Space Force will blast off on Netflix in May. The actor who played Michael Scott in the popular show The Office will essay the head of Space Force, which is the sixth branch of the United States Armed Forces.

Interestingly, news reports suggest that Lisa Kudrow essays Mark Naird's wife Maggie.

Until then, whet what is probably already an astronomical appetite with this series of images from the show, loosely based on the real-life move towards creating a U.S Space Force. News reports that the series stars Carrell as Mark R. Naird, a four-star general and decorated pilot who has ambitious dreams of running the United States Air Force. Now, however, she finds herself moving in a different direction. There, he is "squeezed between the politicians and the scientists", Daniels tells Variety, when tasked by the White House to get back to the moon and achieve "total space dominance".

Space Force was not affected by the ongoing coronavirus production shutdown. They spent that money wooing Steve Carell and Greg Daniels, who adapted the British The Office for the USA, to make them a new show.

John Malkovich, Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome, Ben Schwartz also star, alongside Jimmy O. Yang, Noah Emmerich, Alex Sparrow and Don Lake. Carell wasn't known to have played a part in the series either, which is an even bigger surprise for fans of "The Office US".

This ain't it, sources close to Hollywood Reporter also stated that Steve Carell has been paid a mammoth of an amount for the show.
