Tyler Perry will "deliver words of encouragement" to viewers, while Kanye West will beam in from Los Angeles and provide music for the service, along with his Sunday Service crew.

Joel Osteen's Texas megachurch has been locked up and closed down during the coronavirus pandemic, but the evangelist will still be hosting Easter Sunday services virtually - and he'll be adding some serious star power.

On November 17, West and Osteen filled his 16,800-seat, non-denominational Christian megachurch and the resulting three-hour videos amassed over 4.8M views across platforms. Mariah will pay tribute to medical professionals and first responders who are risking their lives in the fight against COVID-19 with a performance of her uplifting anthem "Hero".

Kanye West teamed up with televangelist Joel Osteen for a series of services late a year ago.

When it came to West's involvement, Osteen seemed to have fewer details, noting that the artist plans to bring his Sunday Service choir in for whatever his part in the Easter Sunday celebration is.

"I have known Mariah from years past, and we'd talked about doing some things", Osteen explained.

Osteen also promised that the stars would be joining his service via video link in order to keep faith with social distancing during the ongoing Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

A Lakewood Church spokesperson said the service would be pre-recorded, on Friday, April 10.
