"Let's give him whoever and let's see how many Super Bowls he would've won".

"Give him Geno Smith...and let's see how many Super Bowls he would've won...these two needed each other to be historic", Ryan said on ESPN's First Take when refuting the argument that Bill Belichick could've won titles without Tom Brady.

Regarding the lingering struggles, many pointed fingers at Rex Ryan, the team's outspoken and struggling head coach, and Geno Smith, the young quarterback who couldn't seem to accustom to the speed of the NFL.

"[Patriots head coach] Bill Belichick is the greatest of all time", Ryan said.

Regardless, the pressure to perform this season will be on for both Brady and Belichick.

Smith took exception, and hit back on Twitter, calling Ryan a "snake". Even so, Geno didn't find it too kind, and went on Twitter to express just how pissed off he was about the comment - and, oh boy, was he pissed off. Take a look at his series of tweets after finding out about Rex's diss. Same guy that drafted me.

Smith, 29, who is now a free agent, was on the Seahawks' roster last season as Russell Wilson's backup but did not see action. Last year, he backed up Russell Wilson on the Seattle Seahawks.

Smith, now 29, had his career turned upside down in August 2015, when he was punched by then-teammate IK Enemkpali over a $600 plane ticket debt. He spent 4 seasons there before moving on to the NY Giants.

Rex Ryan to people who say Belichick would have been just as successful without Tom Brady.
