Kobe Bryant to be inducted into Basketball Hall of Fame

Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant will officially be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2020 on August 29.

This is the first year Bryant, Duncan and Garnett are eligible to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, as they are each four seasons removed from retiring.

Charania added that a formal announcement is expected to be made on Saturday. Bryant averaged 25 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists for his career.

It's a no-brainer - Kobe is widely considered one of the greatest players of all time. during his 20-year run with the Lakers, Kobe won 5 National Basketball Association titles and made the All-Star team 18 times!

For the Class of 2020, the Hall of Fame has elected to suspend for one year the direct-election of an individual or team from the following categories: Veteran's, Women's Veteran's, Early African-American Pioneers and the Contributors. The 1998 Rookie of the Year won two regular-season MVPs and was a 15-time All-Star while averaging 19 points and 10.8 rebounds in his career. He's a 15-time All-Star, 15-time All-NBA selection, five-time champion and two-time MVP.

Enshrinement weekend is August 28-30 split between Springfield and Mohegan Sun in Uncasville Connecticut.
