The delay to the DLC makes complete sense in the current scheme of things and it is promising to see that it is only a short wait, and fans can look forward to taking on the wasteland with new computer-controlled companions on April 14.

The free Wastelanders update for Fallout 76 was supposed to come out late final 12 months, however has been delayed but once more due to the continued coronavirus pandemic slowing down work on the project at Bethesda Recreation Studios.

In a statement released via Twitter, the company said that the development studio had, like much of the world, "transitioned to remote work" and are limiting in-person interactions but reassured fans this would not affect the live services aspect of the game. "Some details are small, like the fact that your Pip-Boy now reflects that the year is 2103, and some are huge like NPCs, Factions, and updated locations". According to Bethesda, as they've arranged remote work-from-home policies to help combat risks of COVID-19, production hasn't been too delayed, but final testing on the Fallout 76 Wastelanders update will push the release date for Wastelanders from its originally set April 7 date to April 14, 2020. "We've done everything we can to minimize the delay and can't wait for everyone to play".

We know that these are stressful times and we can not thank you enough for all the support you have offered us and others.

Non-playable characters will be joined by new locations to explore, as well as new enemies and weapons to unlock.

Wastelanders is bringing one of the most-requested features to FO76 in that it adds human NPCs throughout the game.

Fallout 76 launched in a sorry state in November 2018, with many freaky bugs and glitches. "For those who want more, we're also offering for purchase two Faction-themed content bundles, as well as a combination bundle, which will give players access to exclusive cosmetic and C.A.M.P. items".

This includes the Raider Content Bundle and the Settler Content Bundle.
