Trolling of followers on Dhoni's donation, spouse Sakshi gave a befitting reply

The same is being repeated in India as well with many influential people donating hefty amounts to win the fight against novel coronavirus.

Sakshi did not specify if she was referring to any specific piece of misinformation, but Dhoni, the former India captain, has been at the end of some criticism on social media over reports of the amount he donated in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

"A class 12 student donates 2.5 lakhs whereas one of India's richest cricketers MS Dhoni pledges 1 lakh rupees to poor families...!" another one added. Reports say that Dhoni is the top donor in the fundraiser which will be used to provide essentials to the poor and daily wage workers during the nationwide lockdown.

The pandemic has affected more than 500,000 people worldwide, and has been spreading quite rapidly in India, claiming 17 lives so far. Sakshi Dhoni took to Twitter to slam the media houses for spreading fake news. While she did not reveal the news she was talking about, it is pretty clear that she was mentioning the news of her husband's donation.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, MS Dhoni's spouse criticized the media houses and urged them to stop carrying false news at sensitive times like these and wondered where responsible journalism has disappeared.

Apart from Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar has donated a sum of Rs 50 lakh whereas Sourav Ganguly has provided rice worth Rs 50 lakh for the underprivileged.
