'This Is Us' Finale Matches Season High 7.9 Million Viewers

Most Wanted' also reaches season highs Tuesday thanks to a crossover with its parent show.

In the latest TV ratings, CBS' NCIS drew 13.1 million total viewers and a 1.3 demo rating, surging 21 and 30 percent from its last fresh episode to mark its largest audience in well over a year while matching its season high in the demo (last set on October 1). But the still-good Nielsen numbers put up by the tearjerker's Season 4 closer - an episode that rose from last week's "This Is Us" and matched the show's best rating since its season premiere in September - didn't stick around for the series debut of new NBC drama "Council of Dads". Most Wanted (9.5 mil/1.0) in turn was up 48 and 25 percent to easily hit season highs. The finale's 7.85 million viewers were the most for the show since its season premiere. Ellen's Game of Games (1.4, 6.29 million) hit season highs for the second consecutive week.

CBS was the night's most watched network led by NCIS and its Federal Bureau of Investigation franchise crossover.

At ABC, The Conners (1.1 6.40) saw a dip in the demo as did Mixed-ish (0.6, 2.99M). Bless this Mess (0.7, 4.08M), Black-ish (0.6, 2.64M) and 10 PM drama For Life (0.6, 2.40M) held steady. The crossover was undoubtedly helped by a powerful "NCIS" lead-in, which scored a 1.three score and a large 13.1 million viewers, simply a season excessive when it comes to viewers.
