Janette Nesheiwat, board-certified medical doctor, and Dr. Renee Dua, chief medical officer at Heal, provide insight. Nobody knows what the financial impacts of all of this will be on the NBA in the end, because nobody knows how well our current national measures to contain the virus will work, when play can resume, and if that will be in empty arenas or in front of crowds.

ESPN asked Silver if he thought this could lead to a permanent change to the league calendar with the Finals in August as opposed to June.

"Maybe it's for a giant fundraiser or just for the collective good of the people", Silver said. They need a diversion. Games could resume as soon as the virus is seen as a lower risk.

Recently, four Brooklyn Nets players including Kevin Durant tested positive for COVID-19.

The Sixers said the positive cases were uncovered after health authorities warned that certain players, coaches and support staff may have been exposed to COVID-19.

"One thing I'll say about the United States. we're an incredible country and some of the greatest inventions, some of the best innovations, some of the best minds are in this country", Silver said.

The Wolves are in daily contact with players, who were allowed to leave for home earlier this week if they so chose.

"It's unfortunate we're at this point in society where it's triage when it comes to testing, which is a fundamental issue obviously as there are insufficient tests", Silver said.

"I've been self-quarantined since the test, thank goodness", Smart said on Twitter.

The NBA previously extended its ban on group practices indefinitely but chose to totally restrict access to team facilities in the effort to avoid the further spread of the coronavirus.

The Lakers played the Nets on March 10. Other players and people around the league have tested positive, but have opted to remain unidentified.

Millions of Americans are now either working from home or being forced into an open-ended vacation as a result of the deadly illness.

That being said, there are so many things that go into completing the season that the odds of it happening seem to dwindle by the day.

All we know is that the league is going to take another financial hit in what has already been the strangest National Basketball Association season in memory.

It's uncertain when, or if, the National Basketball Association might be able to resume its campaign, which had just over a month remaining, or stage any playoffs. We'll figure it out. "So I just found out I tested positive for the coronavirus".
