Manchester United are confident of signing Liverpool target Jadon Sancho after holding contract talks with the player's agent, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano via the Metro.

The Daily Mirror claim that Dortmund are unsure about their transfer strategy in the off-season which should give Manchester United an advantage in the race to sign Bellingham.

Sancho has scored 17 goals and provided 17 assists this season in another magnificent individual campaign for Dortmund.

With United reportedly ready to offer around £30 million ($35m) for Bellingham, Ferdinand admits that, though that fee is hard to fathom for such a young player, the gamble could be worth taking.

"Huge talent, really good looking footballer in the way he plays", Ferdinand said on a Q&A on Instagram.

I could see a scenario where United are the only club willing to spend a rumoured €140 million on the England global, getting their man in the process.

A fan wrote to Sancho stating: "Ignore this if you're coming to United", which the 19-year-old looked to have seen before grinning and saying: 'Everyone stay indoors!' But if we keep him for ten years it's money well spent.

The Birmingham City midfielder, 16, is wanted by United and Borussia Dortmund.

"I always thought he is very mature and very focused - but he has to be", Clotet told reporters.

"That's the feeling I get from him, when I speak to him and work with him".
