Lipa tearfully revealed the news this morning (March 23) on Instagram Live with an emotional announcement. Originally slated to come out April 3rd, the new LP will now be arriving this Friday, March 27th.

Queer ally Dua Lipa announced she is releasing her new album early in a tearful Instagram Live video, saying she hopes it makes people smile and dance during the coronavirus pandemic.

She actively said that in all these kinds of situations, everyone needs to actively work together in order to make a change.

"I basically wanted to shut all of that out and not allow the pressure to get to me, and get into the studio with my friends and make something that I was really proud of".

It's not now known when the physical CD and vinyl variants of Future Nostalgia will be released. As anyone who was glued to her live video knows, she has some bittersweet feelings towards releasing her album during the COVID-19 lockdown.

This month in particular, Lipa's been ramping up the hype in preparation for the project. The leaks that surfaced online a week before the album was set to drop has forced her into bumping the dates and while it doesn't seem fair, Dua Lipa thinks it's best to give fans new music. She's also released a remix of it that features Hwasa from K-pop group Mamamoo.

The future (nostalgia) is now. or, well, Friday at the earliest! Although this song comes from a happy place, it's me writing about the fact that I'm in love and I'm so excited and I'm so happy, but I'm like when is it going to go wrong? "I'm a lot more confident now".
