Elton John to host coronavirus benefit concert with Mariah Carey, Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys will play a benefit concert with a difference to raise funds for those facing hardship as coronavirus spreads.

In addition to John's appearance, the special will feature performances by a bevy of music's biggest stars, including Green Day " s Billie Joe Armstrong, R&B singer Alicia Keys, alt-pop phenomenon Billie Eilish, pop star Mariah Carey, country singer Tim McGraw, "00s boy band the Backstreet Boys and more. The special will be simulcast on iHeartMedia stations nationwide and its app.

Oscar victor Elton John is partnering with Fox and iHeartMedia to host Fox Presents The iHeart Living Room Concert for America, an hourlong special looking to help put a dent in the global coronavirus relief effort, according to Deadline. The performances will be filmed with their personal cell phones, cameras and audio equipment, to ensure the health and safety of all involved.

The benefit special will air in the timeslot originally scheduled for "iHeartRadio Music Awards", which was postponed as a result of the growing pandemic.

iHeartMedia and FOX announced on Wednesday, March 25 FOX PRESENTS THE IHEART LIVING ROOM CONCERT FOR AMERICA, a music event to provide entertainment relief and support for Americans to help fight the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to celebrate the resilience and strength of the nation during this pandemic.

Fox's digital platform also will carry the concert. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.
